ABOUT ME
Zoe Martinez Salas is a Colombian composer and sound designer working in film, animation, and video games. Trained as a classical pianist and composer, his music brings together orchestral writing and world-instrument sonorities to support narrative, atmosphere, and emotional nuance.
Influenced by Latin American folkloric music, Zoe explores rhythm, timbre, and musical gesture as storytelling tools rather than stylistic references. His approach favors close collaboration with directors and creative teams, shaping musical identities that respond to the tone, pacing, and inner world of each project.
He studied composition for screen in Russia, France, and Canada, and has composed music for short films, animated projects, and video games presented at international festivals such as Chilemonos, Bogoshorts, and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. His work has been recognized with grants from the Colombian Ministry of Culture and the Colombian Institute of History and Anthropology, as well as 3rd Place at the FMF Young Talent Award at the Krakow International Film Music Festival 2025.
